Meet the maker
Welcome to Rocco & Rose! My name is Niamh, and I am the creative mind and hands behind this handmade textile art and homewares brand.
My passion for textiles started when I studied textile art and design in university, where I specialized in loom weaving. After having two babies, I began creating macrame wall hangings and dreamcatchers as a way to stay creative and unwind in the evenings. I loved the freedom and flexibility of being able to work on these projects standing up and attending to my little ones when needed. And thus, Rocco & Rose was born.
Today, I balance my time between running my home studio in Holywood, Co. Down and being a full-time mum. I use a variety of textile techniques, including macrame, hand and loom weaving (which I hope to feature more of in my work soon), and yarn dyeing. I am constantly exploring and learning, which keeps my passion for textiles alive.
In addition to creating textile art, I also enjoy teaching and facilitating workshops across Northern Ireland. I offer private workshops as well as community workshops, and I love sharing my knowledge and skills with others who are interested in learning more about textile art. It's always a joy to see the creativity and enthusiasm of my students, and I feel grateful to be able to help them develop their own skills and passion for this craft.
As you explore my website, I hope you'll find inspiration in my handmade creations. Thank you for supporting small businesses like Rocco & Rose, and I hope you'll continue to follow us on our journey of discovery and growth.
